After closely studying the PEANUTS strip, the painter discovered that he and Schulz shared a similar line and style. One day, seeing an enlarged image of a PEANUTS strip projected on the wall, Tom was inspired, and an idea was born: an idea for a whole new direction for his painting. Everhart has in many ways made the PEANUTS characters his own, with his distinctive, wildly expressionistic interpretations that are highly sought after by collectors. Everhart is the only artist authorized by Charles M. Schulz to artistically render PEANUTS line art and to use the characters as painting subjects.
