“It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” Turns 40
New York, NY (August 25, 2006) “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!” Actually it’s ten million pumpkins, Charlie Brown! That’s right. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the most popular Halloween special of all time, grocers across the nation are stocking their own in-store pumpkin patches with ten million of the popular orange gourds, each featuring a Peanuts branded sticker. Now Peanuts fans, who normally await the annual arrival of the notorious Great Pumpkin on Halloween night, can get into the holiday spirit beginning this September by purchasing one of these Peanuts themed pumpkins, grown by Hinkle Produce and other growers nationwide.
“When you think of Halloween, it is impossible not to also recall Linus and Sally’s infamous night in the pumpkin patch as they await the arrival of the Great Pumpkin,” said Lynsey Friedman, Licensing Manager for food and beverage, health and beauty aids, advertising and promotions, as well as several other categories at United Media. “Partnering with Hinkle Produce on these Peanuts themed stickered pumpkins is a fun way to commemorate that popular and iconic memory from ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.’”
